Well, well, well...it's that time of year again! Hard to believe it's been about 365 days since Tempest Pictures first competed in the Springfield and the Ozarks 48 Hour Film Competition, yet here we are gearing up for yet another great year at the contest.
As you might have heard, we've been keeping rather busy with our television pilot, and we're happy to announce that we've almost completely wrapped shooting. A few more pick up shots and a short location scene is all that's left. We should have a new preview up along with an official release date very soon.
Once we've finished up principal photography and we set our focus to post production (some scenes are already completed), we plan to be rolling out our Behind-The-Scenes documentary "Anatomy of a TV Pilot", which will include interviews with several members of production, outtakes, on-the-set goodies, as well as background into the process of creating the pilot from beginning to end.
We're also preparing for some major site upgrades with the conclusion of our second quarter. Expect easier navigation, more fequent updates, and a lot more social-interactivity.
And congratulations goes out to our very own Gregory Austin McConnell and Steven Hutchison from Moonlight Films, who have managed to snag a top bid at this year's 2009 SkillsUSA National Television/Video Production Competition! Austin and Steven traveled to Jefferson City to compete with other skilled filmmakers and win a spot at the National championships. Through a tough few days of filming, they beat out all other competition and will now go on to represent the state of Missouri in the national circuit! Best of luck to them when they compete with the rest of the USA this June!
Of course, this week exclusively, we've been given a chance to take a break from the hectic work on our other projects and focus solely on SATO. With 56 teams registered as of this posting, the turn-out should be the biggest they've ever had. We're looking forward to all of the great entries that will come out of this year's competition.
